The main international gateway to Taiwan is Taoyuan International Airport (TPE). To get to National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) from TPE, the most efficient route is via the Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) to THSR Tainan Station, followed by a local transfer.
The main international gateway to Taiwan is Taoyuan International Airport (TPE). To get to National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) from TPE, the most efficient route is via the Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) to THSR Tainan Station, followed by a local transfer.
Leg 1: Airport to THSR Taoyuan Station – Take the Taoyuan Metro (from Metro A12 or A13 to Metro A18; NT$35, approx. 11–16 mins). Alternatively, you can take a taxi located at meeting point 26 (Terminal 1) or the Arrivals Lobby (Terminal 2) (around NT$420, 30 minutes drive).

Note: If you are traveling light, it is possible and cheaper to take the local train. Transfer to the Taiwan Railways (TRA) at Shalun Station (which is conveniently connected to THSR Tainan Station) and ride to TRA Tainan Station (< 25 mins, NT$25). However, if you are carrying a lot of luggage, a direct taxi from the THSR station is highly recommended.
